Visual Fault Locator


 

The VFL100 Visual Fault Locator is an economical, yet highly effective visual fault location unit. The VFL100 typically couples 800uW of 635nm Laser light into the fiber core, allowing for instant identification of fiber breaks, micro or tight macro bending, even thru buffered or unbuffered fiber. The high coupled power, along with the use of the highly visible 635nm wavelength, makes the VFL100 an excellent tool for optimizing splices, isolating a damaged connector on a patch-cord, locating a broken fiber or splice in a splice tray, or highlighting overly tight cable ties in and around equipment racks. The VFL100 operates in both an always on, CW mode, or a flashing modulation mode for enhanced fault location capability in well lit areas. Other features include Power On/ Mod Indicator, low battery detection, and extended battery life.
